4 Ways to Get Good Fats

Got good fats? As part of a healthy eating lifestyle, work towards adding unsaturated fats to your diet and limiting saturated fats. Unsaturated fats not only help lower bad cholesterol and triglyceride levels but also provide essential nutrition and energy to your day.

Here are 4 ways to get more good fats.

1. Eat Fatty Fish. Eat fish like albacore tuna, herring, salmon and sardines at least twice a week to get essential omega-3 fatty acids in your diet. Add tuna or anchovies to your salad and try fish for dinner once a week.

2. Add Nuts. Nuts are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids. Aim for a small handful of nuts and seeds like almonds, pumpkin seeds, walnuts and sunflower seeds.

3. Enjoy Avocado. Bake, cook and snack on avocado. This fruit is also an excellent source of fiber. Replace the mayo on your sandwich with avocado, and top toast with avocado for a morning boost.

4. Check Your Oils. Replace oils high in saturated fats with oils such as avocado, grapeseed, canola, olive and sesame oils.

A few simple swaps can have major results for your health. For more easy ideas to start eating healthier, set up a free health consultation with us today. At KareBoost Health, we believe a healthy lifestyle can be enjoyable and accessible.
