We enjoyed the Karma Yoga Class that you had for CASA SHaW. The instructor was awesome! I very much appreciate your willingness to support CASA now and some time in the future with another event. I told all my friends how nice it was and highly recommended that they join us for the next time. You are all so kind with such caring hearts. Thank you again!

Stress Reduction Coaching
When you are in a stressful situation, whether it is a deadline at work or bad traffic, the body’s fight-or flight response, or sympathetic nervous system is triggered. The fight-or-flight response is necessary for us to recognize and respond to real danger. However, when you are constantly stressed, this starts to affect your mental and physical health. Long-term stress has documented health effects, including inflammation in the circulatory system, organs and even in the brain which creates problems throughout the body. Stress also impacts the gastrointestinal system; indeed, most of us are probably familiar with the “upset stomach” feeling, a stressful event can cause! Additionally, the sympathetic nervous system triggers the adrenal system to increase the production of two stress hormones, cortisol and epinephrine. Your heart beats faster, your respiratory rate increases, and your body prepares to either run or fight. The response of the adrenal system has a direct effect on your blood sugar, raising glucose levels.
While we can’t keep distressing circumstances from our clients’ lives, our stress reduction coaches can teach you relaxation and mindfulness techniques and tools to keep you aligned with your health and wellness goals. Our tailored and targeted services that you can use over time include:
- Teaching Mindfulness – Our basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, as a means to not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.
- Relaxation Techniques – Learning about a variety of techniques that suits your needs and helps you to relax.
- Mindful Meditation – Using meditation to take control of our physiological response to stress and build a more effective regime of Self-Kare to bring stress back down to a manageable level.
